Arranging a Funeral For a Loved One
Arranging a funeral for a loved one can be a difficult experience. In our parish we have colleagues who have many years of experience and are willing to assist in the planning of this very special occasion.
Sometimes people think that because they don’t attend church regularly they can’t have the service of thanksgiving for the death of a loved one in the church building. This is not the case. Our clergy are here for you whether you attend church or not. They have the experience of putting together exactly the kind of service you require, and will take great care in making the preparations for the service with you, in your own home.
We try to encourage you where possible and practicable to have the service in church, but equally we are very willing to attend the crematorium or an alternative venue e.g. the woodland burial sites on the island. We welcome the opportunity of being alongside you to plan this occasion, making it as special as we can.
All Saints’ is available to all who live within our parish. One of our Ministry Team will be pleased to advise you.
When making your plans with the local Undertaker, please ask about using the local church for the service. This has many advantages, especially the opportunity for people who otherwise are unable to travel to the crematorium being able to come and pay their last respects. Being surrounded by friends in a very special way can be a great comfort to the family.
We will be pleased to assist in whatever way we can
